Fall Cleaning Checklist
I have to be honest, I am mostly writing this blog for myself. Haha, no I'm kidding... kind of! This is my first year being a homeowner, and I want to take proper care of my possessions. However, now that I have looked up a "Fall Cleaning Checklist", I completely regret it.
Even after only skimming over the checklist I am stressed. There are things on this list that I don't even think need to be cleaned. And not only that, but I believe it would take me a full week to complete everything on the checklist!
I still want to share it though! And I truly am going to try to complete it to the best of my ability. Don't get overwhelmed, take it one step at a time. Before it gets too cold, join me in taking proper care of your personal belongings and setting yourself up for success to enjoy hibernation this winter!
Living Areas:
open windows
dust light fixtures & ceiling fans
remove and launder curtains, pillow covers, & blankets,
replace light blankets with heavier ones
vacuum sofas and chairs- under cushions
spot clean furniture
dust shelves, furniture, wall decor, & electronics
wipe down doors, knobs, trim, & baseboards
wash windows & windowsills
vacuum all flooring
mop hard wood floors
Kitchen:
empty drawers & cabinets, wipe out and vacuum
organize contents as you refill
clean and organize pantry
clean over and stovetop
wipe down microwave inside and out
clean and organize fridge & freezer
check food expiration dates
vacuum under fridge and coils on the back
wipe down switches, trim, and baseboards
wipe down counters & backsplash
clean dishwasher
wipe sink & clean drain
Bedrooms:
clean out dresser drawers & organize
switch out seasonal clothing
clean closet floors and organize clothes
flip mattress
wash pillows and duvets
air out mattress pads
dust
launder curtains
wipe down doors, knobs, trim & baseboards
wash or dry clean rugs
Bathrooms:
empty cabinets & drawers & wipe them down
organize contents when replacing
check expirations on all cosmetics & medicine
wipe down vanity exterior
wipe down mirror & frame
wipe and sanitize counters & sinks
clean tub & drain
clean toilet inside & out
clean hinges of toilet lid and bolt covers at toilet base
reseal grout if necessary
Laundry room:
wipe down washer & dryer exterior
clean & air dry lint trip
wash inside of the washing machine
Outdoors:
wash thresholds
sweep porch, patios, walkways,
clean door mats
power wash exterior & driveway
clean gutters
wash light fixture covers
