Why do we celebrate Earth Day? While most of us do not stop to think about the planet we live on, it is important to take one day to recognize all of its beauty and strength. Our planet is what gives us life and Earth Day was created to focus on one thing... Improving the Earth as best as we can! I don't blame you, I go almost 364 days without appreciating this planet. So, April 22nd, let's all take a moment to love this planet a little more.
Here are three ways we can love and appreciate this planet we all call home:
Visit National Parks physically or virtually!
If you are one of the lucky ones, I would highly recommend heading to your nearest National Park to appreciate the beauty that it brings! Even if you are in Sioux Falls, SD like me, and don't have a National Park, we still have stunning parks in town. Good Earth State Park, McKennan Park, or head out a west to see the Black Hills, Bad Lands, Mount Rushmore, and more!
However, if you don't have time or live in the desert, you can view almost any National Park virtually! This is even perfect for kids. Click the link below to find over 62 National Parks, ranging from Hawaii all the way to Alaska.

Start a Seed Jar!
Bring a little bit of the Earth into your home so you are able to enjoy it all year round! Of course, we don't want to take too much of the Earth, but this is what it's here for! This is a great idea to enjoy some nature and growth on a daily basis and is a fun activity for kids.

Go Paperless!
Again, no shame here. If anyone is guilty of using too much paper, it's me. I use it for work, I read books and magazines, I use my cook books, I use paper all day every day! However, now a days, there are apps for everything! Apps for your favorite books, magazines, you can find delicious recipes online, we now have laptops to use for work, almost everything can be done paperless these days. Let's begin to embrace that!
This article features great ways to celebrate our Earth on Earth Day this year! You won't want to miss it.
